Key findings
- high· other —The bundled lacks the 'alarms' permission that is present in the published manifest summary on the Chrome Web Store. This mismatch may indicate an update or publishing error, but does not necessarily indicate malice.
The extension is an official tool from Pix (French government digital skills certification) to block forbidden websites during exams. Permissions (webNavigation, storage, tabs) are necessary for its blocking functionality and are not abused. All data flows (fetching forbidden URL list, sending pings with access tokens) go to first-party Pix domains. No unauthorized data collection or malicious code present. The low ML risk score (0.00) aligns with the benign nature, while the risk-engine's high risk and negative user reviews are likely noise.

About this extension
Browser extension for Pix
Read the publisher’s full description
Pix is the French government's online public service for assessing, developing and certifying digital skills. Within this framework, we organize certification sessions to validate users' digital skills. During these sessions, it is not permitted to consult certain prohibited content or to search for answers directly on the Internet. The extension is designed to be used as part of a “Pix” certification test. Its purpose is to prevent access to websites prohibited by Pix. The filter is automatically activated at test start-up and deactivated at test end. When attempting to navigate to a “prohibited” website, the user is redirected to an extension page. A check is performed at each browsing event, as well as on tabs already open at the time of activation.
