What our analysis found

i-Ready LockDown Browser, used by 7,000,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. Its permissions mean it can read and change data on all websites, can inject scripts into pages and can observe network requests. It comes from a publisher with 14 extensions and was last updated in October 2026.

The extension implements a lockdown browser for exams. All permissions are required for its functionality (tab management, web request interception, clipboard control, display detection, etc.). Network requests only go to the publisher's own server () and well-known font CDNs; no data exfiltration to third parties. User data collection is disclosed in the CWS listing. No hidden or malicious behavior was found.
