Kami for Google Chrome™, used by 18,000,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. Its permissions mean it can read and change data on all websites, can inject scripts into pages and can observe network requests. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in October 2026.
Kami is a widely-deployed educational PDF annotation platform (17M users, Google publisher) whose broad permissions serve clearly documented PDF-viewer and educational-platform-integration purposes. All network calls observed in source go exclusively to first-party Kami domains (,,,) or the well-known error-monitoring SaaS Bugsnag (); no third-party data exfiltration was found. The permhash cluster has 0% malware peers, the ML score is already at the floor (0.02), and the third-party risk vendor's likelihood score is — all three independent signals contradict a malicious verdict.
