What our analysis found
Spider-man Falling Upside Down Live Wallpaper, used by 1,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in November 2025.
Analyst notes
All provided code is an ordinary new-tab wallpaper page: clock (:48), localStorage notes (:85-154, 218-312), default-engine search via chrome.search.query (:169), and first-party fetches to the declared host [domain withheld]; bundled and published manifests match exactly, there are no content scripts and no permissions, so no user data leaves the browser. The one real weakness is a dormant remote-content channel::54 injects unsanitized HTML from [domain withheld] into the new tab, and:21-28 lets the server replace the shortcut list, which MV3's default extension-page CSP prevents from executing script but still permits future ad or phishing markup. The 62% publisher and 33% permhash figures are circular (the internal note says this row's label came from a bulk malext feed import, explicitly not a code review) and are contradicted by chrome-stats and the trusted-publisher badge; confidence is capped at medium because is in the signed manifest but was not included in the extract, leaving ~87 KB of the 99,735-byte JS total unreviewed.
