Analyst notes
The extension automates Bing searches for Microsoft Rewards using legitimate debugger and tab APIs. No data exfiltration, credential theft, or code injection detected. However, after completing searches, it sometimes redirects the tab to a promotional URL ([domain withheld]) with 30% probability, which is not disclosed as an ad and contradicts the extension's claim of being ad-free. While this is a deceptive practice, it does not constitute a security threat. The debugger permission is used solely for device emulation and is properly scoped. The ML model likely flagged the large word list and debugger usage as suspicious, but these are necessary for the extension's core functionality.
