What our analysis found
Merge PDF, used by 60,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in October 2023.
Analyst notes
The extension only communicates with its own API server ([domain withheld]) for the core PDF merging functionality. No sensitive data is collected beyond the PDF files themselves, and the destination is first-party. The extension has no content scripts, no broad permissions, and uses standard practices. The ML model likely flagged POST requests and innerHTML usage, which are expected in a PDF merging tool.
