The code does exactly what the listing describes (5 local HD wallpapers in img/, clock, sticky notes, chrome.search.query search box, shortcut tiles) and there is not a single outbound POST, no reading, no obfuscation and no third-party telemetry — every network call is a GET to [domain withheld], the publisher's own domain and the host of its privacy policy. What keeps this off 'benign' is a server-side content switch in the extension's own privileged new tab::41-54 fetches a JSON blob from [domain withheld] and assigns straight into #remote-popup.innerHTML, and: renders a server-supplied shortcut list through an unescaped jQuery template that also overwrites the user's own saved shortcuts (:17). The manifest declares no custom CSP, so default MV3 extension-page CSP blocks injected <script>, inline handlers and javascript: hrefs — this is not code execution — but arbitrary iframes, forms, links and images can be pushed onto every new tab with no store update. The ML score, the 33%-malicious permhash cluster and the publisher's malicious count do NOT corroborate this independently: the internal note shows the label came from a bulk malext feed import, the same import plausibly produced the publisher-level count across Gameograf's template-identical theme extensions, and the canonical permhash is host-blind so a 'search'-only 11k cluster is largely those same templates. chrome-stats (, trusted publisher) and our own risk engine (Low, 0.10) contradict the ML verdict. Dead code and hygiene only: [domain withheld] is unreachable (never called; getVideo and total_videos undefined, host not in host_permissions),:19-25 wipes IndexedDB only in the extension's own origin, and:89 throws a ReferenceError after the live fetch listener is already registered. is referenced at:17 but absent from the bundle; 111667 - 24376 bytes of reviewed JS leaves ~87.3 KB, matching stock jquery-3.7.1. with no surplus, but it is unreviewed, which is part of why confidence is low.
