What our analysis found

Jinshan Web Clipper, used by 1,000,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. Its permissions mean it can read and change data on all websites and can inject scripts into pages. It comes from a publisher with 3 extensions and was last updated in February 2026.

The extension is a legitimate browser tool for saving web pages to Kingsoft Docs (WPS). Broad host permissions and cookies access are required for its core functionality of extracting page content and authenticating with the service. All API calls are directed to subdomains (first-party), and no data exfiltration to unknown third parties was observed. The large JavaScript size and high pattern counts reported by the ML model are due to bundled libraries (Vue, Element Plus, Axios), not obfuscation or malicious code. The publisher has a valid privacy policy and good reputation.
