What our analysis found

Discogs Tempo Adjust, used by 1,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in November 2024.

Analyst notes

All code in this extension is fully consistent with its stated purpose of adjusting YouTube video playback tempo on [domain withheld]. The content script renders a React-based UI panel that sends postMessage to YouTube iframes (with target origin locked to '[domain withheld]'), and receives those messages only from '[domain withheld]' (strict origin check at line 31) to set video.playbackRate and video.preservesPitch. There are zero network requests, no data collection, no eval, and no remote code loading anywhere in the codebase. The ML score was driven entirely by React+ReactDOM being bundled into the content script (large file size, high ratios) — all standard signatures of a minified React bundle, not malicious behavior. The third-party score (impact, likelihood) and our own risk engine (0.00) both corroborate the benign verdict.
