What our analysis found
TADC Digital Circus HD Wallpaper New Tab showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in June 2026.
Analyst notes
The extension is a straightforward new-tab wallpaper dashboard with no network exfiltration, no external data collection, and no obfuscation. All storage operations use chrome.storage.local exclusively for user preferences (background index, custom links, tasks, notes). The only external network contact is [domain withheld]'s favicon service (a well-known, benign CDN) and the publisher's own domain [domain withheld] (opened once on install as a welcome page). The ML score of 0.35 appears driven by innerHTML usage (templating link cards and task rows inside the extension's own new-tab page), appendChild calls (building DOM elements from local data), and the 74 JSON files (likely metadata). None of these constitute malicious behavior. The bundled manifest exactly matches the published manifest (both MV3, both declare only 'storage', no host_permissions). Publisher has malicious extensions and holds a trusted publisher badge.
