Analyst notes
The extension's source code strictly performs the advertised function: opening sci-hub URLs in new tabs based on the current page URL or a user-selected DOI. It uses minimal permissions (tabs, contextMenus, storage) solely for this purpose, with no data exfiltration, tracking, or remote code loading. All outbound URLs are user-initiated and go to the intended third-party site (sci-hub). The bundled manifest uses Manifest V2 while the CWS listing claims V3, but this discrepancy does not affect security.

Or you can select doi text then right click>get by doi, then chrome will open a new tab to find resource in sci-hub. Custom domain setting: right click add-on button > Options, then input custom domain you want and save it.
