The reviewed code is fully consistent with the extension's stated purpose of enhancing DeepSeek's chat UI. The hook in intercepts only [domain withheld] API paths to inject system prompts into requests — all other traffic passes through unmodified. The DeepSeek auth token captured in (line 1390–1392) is stored in-memory and used exclusively to make follow-up requests to DeepSeek's own API () at line 1467, never exfiltrated. Remote config is fetched from the publisher's own open-source GitHub repo and stored as JSON — it is not executed as code. Third-party risk score flags are corroborated by the broad <all_urls> permission, but this is justified by the user-initiated 'deep research' URL-fetch feature ( lines 660–675). No data is sent to any third-party domain unrelated to the extension's stated function.
