🍌 BananaNL, used by 60,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. Its permissions mean it can inject scripts into pages. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in October 2026.

Analyst notes

The extension uses scripting to inject its own UI on specific domains (NotebookLM, AI chat sites) and does not inject arbitrary code. All network requests go to the publisher's own server ([domain withheld]) or Google APIs, consistent with its stated purpose of prompt management and AI chat integration. Analytics collection is first-party and non-PII, and OAuth access is user-initiated for Google Drive backup. No evidence of data exfiltration, credential theft, or unauthorized access was found.
