Analyst notes
The extension manipulates YouTube subtitles via XHR interception and DOM injection, all within [domain withheld] domains. No data is sent to external servers except the publisher's own website ([domain withheld]) for links, which is first-party. The bundled manifest uses Manifest V2 with broader permissions (contextMenus, declarativeContent) than listed in the CWS listing (which claims V3), indicating a stale or mismatched listing, but the permissions are used solely for subtitle UI features. No evidence of tracking, remote code, or data exfiltration.
