Analyst notes
The extension is a new-tab override that customizes the new tab page with backgrounds and widgets. It requests only 'storage' permission, uses no host_permissions, and the background script merely opens a new tab on The content security policy allows 'self', [domain withheld], and [domain withheld], which is typical for fetching backgrounds and search suggestions, aligning with the stated functionality. The listed privacy policy is at [domain withheld], and no data collection is declared. The mismatched manifest version in the CWS summary (3 vs bundled 2) is likely a listing error or a later update not reflected in the bundle, not a security concern. No suspicious network calls, obfuscation, or exfiltration are evident in the reviewed files. ML risk score of 0.00 and low third-party risk further support a benign classification.
