What our analysis found
Rocket Sender, used by 70,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in October 2026.
Analyst notes
The service worker performs only benign actions: opening pages, setting default storage values, and making API calls to the publisher's own domains ([domain withheld], [domain withheld], [domain withheld]) for license validation and AI reply suggestions. No obfuscation, no data exfiltration to third parties, and all permissions are necessary for the extension's stated WhatsApp enhancement purpose. The bundled manifest includes an extra content script match for [domain withheld] (likely a legacy domain), causing a minor mismatch with the published summary, but this does not indicate malicious intent. The ML model's pattern matches (innerHTML, appendChild, etc.) are typical for content scripts that modify the WhatsApp Web interface.
