Petal Bloom, used by 3,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a publisher with 11 extensions and was last updated in June 2026.
Analyst notes
All JS is minimal and straightforward: opens the publisher's own domain on and relays search queries via chrome.search.query; only runs on [domain withheld] and simply bridges a same-origin postMessage to the background for search; redirects the new tab to the publisher's own domain. No obfuscation, no data exfiltration, no suspicious third-party destinations. The ML score of 0.22 is almost certainly driven by the tiny file size and simple permission profile rather than any malicious code. The 2% malware rate in the permhash cluster (search-only) is not corroborated by any code evidence.
