The extension is a standard new-tab replacement with only the `search` permission, consistent with what the published manifest declares. All source code (,,) is plaintext and readable — no obfuscation, no remote code loading, no data exfiltration. The sole outbound domain in is `[domain withheld]`, which matches the publisher identity, and all shortcut links are well-known consumer sites (YouTube, Netflix, ChatGPT, Instagram, X) hard-coded in. The ` ` IndexedDB cleanup on install is unusual but not malicious — it appears to be a self-cleanup routine. The ML score of 0.34 is modest and likely driven by the new-tab override and low user count rather than any code-level signal. The 3% malware rate in the permhash cluster is dominated by other extensions sharing the same minimal `search` permission, not by shared code patterns. Chrome-stats rating corroborates benignity.
