HaramBlur - Blur Haram & NSFW Images & Videos, used by 80,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. Its permissions mean it can read and change data on all websites and can inject scripts into pages. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in July 2026.
The extension is a legitimate content-filtering tool that uses AI models to blur NSFW and haram content. All remote API communication is to the publisher's own backend () for auth, premium features, and companion alerts, as disclosed in the privacy policy. Diagnostic data collected on uninstall is encrypted and contains no PII. The broad permissions are essential for its core functionality of injecting scripts and modifying network requests to sites. The ML model likely overfit on the high volume of network requests, innerHTML manipulation, and WebAssembly usage typical of an ML-based extension. No malicious behavior found.
