Analyst notes
All four files reviewed show a standard new tab replacement page: clock, customizable shortcuts, video background, and a search bar that correctly uses the declared `search` permission (:99–104). There is no data exfiltration, no calls to [domain withheld] (which appears in the published manifest host_permissions but is absent from the bundled manifest and from all code), and the only external outbound traffic is to Google Fonts CDN and [domain withheld] (the publisher's own domain). The ML score of 0.47 was likely inflated by the 7,555-extension permhash cluster where 3% are malicious—the extension shares the `search`-only fingerprint with many other new-tab pages including bad actors, but its own code is clean. The notable anomaly in (lines 18–24) deletes IndexedDB on install, but in a Manifest V3 service worker the IndexedDB scope is the extension's own origin only, not other sites; this is a no-op cleanup of the extension's own storage, not cross-origin sabotage. The mismatch ("Fortnite Highwire" title vs. "SpongeBob wallpapers" text) reflects sloppy template reuse by a prolific publisher (1,351 extensions), not malice.
