In code review (v3.0.5)
Our reviewer read version 3.0.5 — the most recent version we have reviewed — and found no malicious behaviour. The version shown here has not been individually reviewed yet.
What our analysis found
Earth View from Google Earth, used by 600,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in July 2024.
The extension is a legitimate Google Earth new tab wallpaper with no malicious code. It only requests (as declared) and uses Google Analytics (first-party, covered by Google's privacy policy). The manifest mismatch (bundled v2 vs. published v3) is likely a version difference and not a security threat. Publisher is Google, a trusted entity with a featured listing and strong reputation.
