What our analysis found
AI Launchpad showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in January 2024.
Analyst notes
The extension is a simple new-tab page replacement displaying a curated list of AI tool links (ChatGPT, Bard, Adobe Firefly, etc.) with zero permissions beyond `chrome_url_overrides.newtab`. All ML signals are accounted for by benign sources: the six `html_base64_obfuscation` hits map to a single inline data-URI image of the Adobe Firefly logo ( line 62), the 35 `html_url_encoding` hits come from percent-encoded characters in a pre-formed Twitter search link ( line 149), and the `js_appendchild` hits are in ` ` which is doubly dead code — the actual `fetch()` call inside it is commented out (lines 8–10) AND the `<script>` tag that would load the file is also commented out in (line 161). Our own risk engine independently scored this 0.00 with zero findings; chrome-stats rates impact and likelihood, corroborating the benign verdict. The elevated publisher malice rate ( other extensions) is noted but the code of this specific extension contains no malicious behavior.
