Other
The bundled manifest declares only webNavigation and storage, but the live CWS published manifest additionally declares clipboardWrite and content_scripts with matches: ["<all_urls>"], plus web_accessible_resources exposing and to all URLs. These files do not exist in the analyzed ZIP. This divergence means the installed live extension can inject scripts into any web page and read/write the clipboard — capabilities not present in the reviewed bundle — which the analysed ZIP cannot account for.
Analyst notes
The source code in the bundled ZIP is entirely consistent with its stated purpose — a Chrome DevTools panel that intercepts network requests and attempts AES decryption of bodies using locally-stored keys (chrome.storage.local), with no outbound network calls or data exfiltration. However, the published CWS manifest declares clipboardWrite, content_scripts matching <all_urls>, and web_accessible_resources for two separate scripts (,) that are absent from the analyzed ZIP, indicating the live CWS version has significantly expanded capabilities beyond what was reviewed. The ML signals (js_hex_obfuscation:131, js_eval:3, js_fromcharcode:9) are all attributable to embedded base16 color theme definitions, React internals, and the CryptoJS library — not malice. Publisher reputation ( other extensions malicious, 33%) mildly elevates concern but is not decisive; the chrome-stats third-party score shows low likelihood.
