What our analysis found
Ad Killer for Quora™ showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in August 2023.
Analyst notes
The extension does exactly what it advertises: a content script () runs a setInterval loop on [domain withheld] pages, searches innerHTML for strings like '>Sponsored by', '>Ad by', and Google ad iframes, then hides matching elements by setting display:none. The background script only receives a counter message and updates the browser action badge. There is no network exfiltration, no remote code loading, no obfuscation, and no access beyond *.[domain withheld]. The ML score of 0.20 is driven by trivial signals (1 innerHTML hit, 5039 bytes total JS) that are entirely explained by the ad-blocking DOM manipulation the extension performs. Publisher has a Google trusted badge and a featured CWS listing, and our own risk engine returned

About this extension
Gets rid of the ads and sponsored content from Quora™.
Read the publisher’s full description
Removes all ads, sponsored content, promoted content, and teasers for "premium" posts. Tries to leave all useful content in place. I wrote it because the other Quora™ ad blocker I found made the site unusable by also removing the upvote/downvote buttons and the sidebar. This tries to simply remove the ads and leave the site fully usable. Let me know if it misses any ads for you. Quora™ makes changes to their site from time to time that breaks something, all easily fixed. And note that if you make the extension's icon visible in the browser toolbar, it'll keep a running tally of how many ads it removes.
