Analyst notes
The extension is a legitimate 2FA authenticator that pairs with its companion mobile app. All network requests go to the publisher's own domains ([domain withheld], [domain withheld]), consistent with the disclosed purpose. Permissions like webNavigation, tabs, and host_permissions are necessary for injecting 2FA tokens into login pages. The code shows no obfuscation, no unauthorized data collection beyond what is disclosed in the CWS listing (User activity, Website content), and error logging is opt-in. The ML model's signals (e.g., high innerHTML counts) are due to the extension's natural DOM manipulation for auto-submit and notification features, not malice.

Free access — no account required. 2FAS Auth is an easy-to-use authentication app that protects access to your online services and accounts. The 2FAS Authenticator App generates one-time codes called Time-based One-time Passwords (TOTP) or HMAC-based (event-based) One-time Passwords (HOTP) for your account. By creating these codes offline and changing them every 30 seconds or every login, 2FAS drastically increases the security of your information.
