Tab is a premium browser new tab page built on deep research and design specifications. It reimagines the browser's default new tab into a visually stunning, highly functional dashboard that balances beauty, performance, and user agency. At its core, Tab adopts a dark glassmorphism aesthetic — a rich gradient background (#0a0a0f → #16162a → #1a1a2e → #0f0f1a) layered with frosted-glass panels (backdrop-filter: blur(16px)). Every animation is driven by Apple-style spring curves — fluid motion for the search bar, subtle overshoot for sheet panels, a gentle bounce for card entries, and accelerated ease-out for dismissals. These aren't arbitrary timings; they mimic the tactile feel of iOS/macOS interactions, making every micro-interaction feel intentional and polished. The search bar sits center-top with a generous min(20vh, 160px) top margin. Hovering it triggers a subtle tilt-to-zero correction and a smooth expansion to 120% width. Users can switch between six search engines (Bing as default, plus Google, 360, Baidu, Sogou, and Shenma) through a transparent bridge-wrapper dropdown that prevents hover leakage. Quick-access cards are the heart of the page — a responsive grid (6/4/2 columns across desktop/tablet/phone) where each card can be independently sized at small, medium, or large. Cards use only the domain's first letter as their icon — no network requests, no tracking. CRUD operations are handled through a frosted-glass modal that auto-fills the title from the entered URL. Cards enter with a staggered scale(0.7) → 1 bounce animation, each card 50ms apart, creating a cascading reveal. Background customization is extensive: 16 solid-color and 8 gradient presets, custom color/gradient pickers, local image upload (auto-compressed to 1920px if over 2MB), and even video wallpaper stored in IndexedDB for autoplay persistence. A 40% black overlay ensures text readability, fading in only when hovering the search bar — maintaining the clean, minimal look.
