Yahtzee is a five dice game that is based on poker while strategy and luck plays a very important role in it. The object of the game is to score maximum points. The player with highest score in the end is the winner. In order to make various scoring combinations, the dice can be rolled up to three time in one turn. It has thirteen round and at the end of each round the player has the right to decide which strategy he/she will use to calculate that round. The strategy once used cannot be used again. HISTORY: Yahtzee was originally made by Milton Bradley but now it is owned by Hasbro. It was first marketed in 1940s as Yatzie by National Association Service of Toledo . Then in 1956 it was renamed as Yahtzee by Edwin Lowe. HOW TO PLAY: Each of the thirteen turns consists of three separate rolls. Initially you roll all the five dice that you have and after that you can hold any sunset of the five dice and can roll the remaining dice( in order to attain a good combination this includes either none or all of the dice as well). After each turn I.e three rolls you must find a suitable place amongst the thirteen boxes given in the score card. This score depends on your combination plus the box that you have choose to put your score .After the three rolls (or after the first or second roll if you want to stop) you must find a place among the thirteen boxes in the scorecard to put your score. The score you get depends on the box that you choose and the combination that you have rolled. After a box is used you cant reuse it again in that game, so you have to choose wisely. This means that, in general, you may not choose the box that has the highest score for the combination that you have rolled, as it may be advantageous to save that box for an even better roll in the game. In fact, sometimes, putting a “0” in a bad box can be wiser instead of keeping a bad score in a good box. Thus the good box would be safe for future good scores. RULES: The Upper Section The upper Section of the game has six boxes. Each of the box corresponds to the six face of the six respectively. For boxes as such, you just enter the sum of the dice with the corresponding face value ( rest of the dice can be ignored at this instant) BONUS: at the end of the game if your score is 63 or higher than that , then you get a bonus of 35 points. This value 63 corresponds to having a combination with three dice of correlating face value in each boxes of upper section. However any total which equals 63 is rewarded with bonus The Lower Section Here you can score for various combinations. 3 of a kind: score goes in this box if three or more dices has the same number .then the score us the total of all the five dice. 4 of a kind: score goes in this box if four or more dice has the same number. Then the score is the total of all the five dice. Full House: full house means that the dice shows three of ine number and two of another number. The total score would be 25 points. Small Straight: Any sequence of 4 consecutive numbers in the dice is called small straight total score of small straight is 30 points. Large Straight: Any sequence of 5 consecutive numbers is called large straight. The score is 40 points. Chance: Any random combination will be scored I this box. The score is the total of all the five dice. Yahtzee: if all the five dice shows up the same value then it Is called Yahtzee. And the total value of Yahtzee is 50 points Yahtzee Bonus: if, after having one Yahtzee you roll another Yahtzee and the box is already full with 50 points then you get 100 points bonus. If your Yahtzee box is filled with zero then you will not get the bonus even after scoring a Yahtzee. In both the case, atleast one of the box should be filled with the joker rule. Joker rule: the upper box in the score card should be filled with corresponding the number you rolled. If that box is already filled then you must enter the value in any open lower section box on the score card. For boxes like chance, 3 of a kind and 4 of a kind, the scoring should be the total of all the five dice. Full house has 25, small straight has 30 while large straight has 40 points. If all the boxes in the lower section are filled then you must enter a zero in any open upper section box in the score card. PLAYING TIME: 30 MINUTES PLAYERS REQUIRED: 1+
