The extension's extensive permissions (proxy, webRequest, declarativeNetRequest, identity) are all used for legitimate WhatsApp enhancement features: optional proxy routing via BrightData, CSP modifications to inject UI, Google Contacts OAuth for contact sync. All network requests target the publisher's domain (wup.plus) or known service providers (Google, BrightData). No hidden tracking or credential theft was found. The code modifications to WhatsApp Web () are typical of power-user extensions. The ML model and risk-engine flags were triggered by permission combinations, not actual malicious behavior.
