WhatsApp Bulk Chat Backup & Export Chrome extension security report

Back up and export your WhatsApp Web conversations in bulk, in the format you need, without your data ever leaving your computer. This extension turns WhatsApp Web into a real backup and export tool. Select one chat or dozens, pick a date range, choose your format, and get a clean, organized download in seconds. No uploads, no cloud processing, no accounts required to use the core features — everything runs locally in your browser. Why people use it Export in the format that works for you** HTML — a self-contained, offline-viewable chat transcript that looks like the real conversation CSV — clean rows for spreadsheets, analysis, or record-keeping JSON — structured data for developers or archival purposes XLSX (Excel) — ready-to-use spreadsheets, no conversion needed Bulk export, not one-chat-at-a-time Select your current chat, hand-pick a few, or grab every conversation at once. When you export multiple chats, WhatsApp Backup bundles everything — messages and media — into a single combined ZIP file, so you're not fighting your browser's download popups one file at a time. Filter by date range Only need last month's conversation with a client, or a specific project thread? Set a "from" and "to" date and export just that window. Media included Photos, voice notes, video clips, and files can be pulled down alongside your messages and organized into per-chat folders inside your export. Built to actually work WhatsApp Web can be finicky. It includes a smart reconnect button that reloads and reconnects automatically, plus automatic retries with backoff for media downloads that fail on the first try — so large batch exports don't stall out. Privacy first Your messages are processed entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to an external server. The extension only reads what's already visible in your own WhatsApp Web session. How it works 1. Install the extension and open web.whatsapp.com 2. Click the WhatsApp Backup icon to open the sidepanel 3. Search and select the chats you want 4. Pick a date range and export format 5. Click export — your file(s) download instantly Permissions & privacy The extension only requests access to web.whatsapp.com to read your open chat session for export purposes. No message content is transmitted anywhere. License verification for Pro (if purchased) checks your license key against Gumroad's API — nothing else is sent. ---
