Key findings
- High
Other
The bundled manifest declares more permissions than what is shown in the CWS published manifest summary. This discrepancy could be a listing error, but it may also indicate that the extension uses permissions not properly disclosed to users. As a finding, it should be reviewed for compliance.
Analyst notes
The extension is a legitimate educational tool (Wayground AI) from a reputable publisher (Quizizz, CWS featured). It uses permissions appropriately for its functionality: content script injection for creating quizzes from various websites, OAuth for Google integration, recording with, and analytics to a first-party server ([domain withheld]). No evidence of data exfiltration to third parties, credential theft, or malicious code injection. The only finding is a permissions mismatch between the bundled manifest and the CWS published summary, which is likely a listing discrepancy rather than malicious. The ML model likely flagged high counts of DOM manipulation methods due to UI injections.
