Optimize your Gmail storage by removing unneeded attachments without losing your emails.

This extension adds a small button (a red crossed-over paperclip) to the top-right corner of Gmail's web UI when viewing an email. When clicked, this button reveals a list of available actions, the primary action being "Remove All Attachments From This Email." The "Remove All Attachments From This Email" button removes both inline and non-inline attachments from the viewed email. It achieves this by creating a copy of the email without the attachments and then moving the original email to your Bin in Gmail. All email metadata, such as the received date and the labels, are preserved. The first time you run the above action, you'll be asked to sign in with Unattach and give Unattach permissions to your Gmail account. With this extension, you can process one email at a time. If you're viewing an email thread, click on an email to open it - this will reveal the red Unattach button in the top-right corner of the opened email. The extension works only in Chrome. After installing the extension, please refresh the page of existing Gmail tabs to load the extension. The extension is a companion to the Unattach Web App (https://unattach.app/). The web app offers a range of additional features, including the ability to process many emails at once, download attachments, downsize image attachments, upload attachments to Dropbox, and more.
