The bundled manifest declares `webNavigation` as a permission, but the published CWS manifest summary lists only `declarativeNetRequest`, `declarativeNetRequestFeedback`, `storage`, and `activeTab` — `webNavigation` is absent from the store listing. Any permission present in the installed extension but absent from the CWS-disclosed manifest is a mismatch the user was not fully informed of at install time. The `webNavigation` permission is used legitimately in (line 60) only to clean up temporary allow rules on navigation commit, so the use itself is benign; the concern is the undisclosed delta between what users consented to and what is actually installed.

Analyst notes

The extension code is entirely clean and does exactly what it advertises — adds `&udm=14` to Google search URLs via declarativeNetRequest, handle tab-click edge cases and cleanup, and no external network calls, data collection, or obfuscation exist anywhere. However, two signals prevent a full clearance: (1) the bundled includes `webNavigation` as a declared permission but the published CWS manifest summary omits it — a concrete mismatch per the cross-check requirement; and (2) the publisher (kkhgog45f) has a 100% malicious rate () on their other extensions, which is a meaningful threat-actor pattern even when the current code is benign. A very simple extension that lets you toggle the &udm=14 parameter on your Google searches. When enabled, Google switches to a clean, web-results-first view that removes AI/Overview panels and other extras (shopping boxes, short-video carousels, etc.), so you see classic blue-link pages. Thank you! So glad this extension exists! Google got wise to people changing their default search to UDM=14 because my new Chromebook doesn't have an option to change the default search except to a handful of presets that all also mostly use AI.

This simple trick completely blocks AI from entering my search results. I'm at a loss for words. Forget those other "Google AI blocker" extensions and scripts. This actually works!!!
