Using this extension will add alt text to images on the Twitter.com website. Twitter A11y uses automated methods from Microsoft, Google, and university researchers to source alt text for images as you browse Twitter. This only works on the Twitter website for now. Note that in the options page, you can enable tooltips and colored borders to help with visual debugging. Otherwise the alt text is just inserted in the normal alt tags so that your screen reader can access it.
