Textract allows you to crop web page images/ videos for text extraction. It uses Tesseract.js a pure JavaScript port of the popular Tesseract open-source OCR engine. Why Textract? š Data privacy: Thanks to Tesseract.js, All OCR processing is executed in your browser. None of your images/ data is sent to a server. š Supported languages: Currently, only English text is supported. However, a new feature allowing you to choose a specific language is coming in an upcoming update. šÆļø Accuracy: With Tesseract as the main text recognition engine, optimal results are achieved on printed text with a high-contrast background. We are planning on adding a more powerful text recognition engine as an option in a future update.
