Sonar helps organizations audit their compliance with privacy and security regulations such as SOC 2, HIPAA, FERPA, and similar standards. The extension monitors user interactions with form fields and other editable elements to identify situations where sensitive information may be entered in potentially risky contexts. When a potential risk event is detected, the extension sends a minimal, privacy-preserving event summary for analysis. If risk is confirmed, the system logs the type of event and the domains involved so organizations can identify potential compliance gaps. Key capabilities include: • Detects potentially sensitive data being entered into web pages • Identifies external trackers that may capture entered data • Associates tracker activity with potential risk events • Enables organizations to audit compliance risks across their web usage • Provides optional user notifications when risky behavior is detected Privacy protections are built into the design: • No user-entered text is ever stored • When possible, sensitive data is masked before analysis • If masking would remove required context, plaintext input may be temporarily analyzed but is never stored • Analysis data is discarded immediately after processing • Only high-level event metadata (event type and domains involved) is retained when a risk event occurs This extension is designed for organizational compliance auditing and security monitoring.
