Script Control functions well as a global script toggler, but its permission structure forces unnecessary site-wide exposure. Because the extension relies on hardcoded content scripts across <all_urls> instead of Manifest V3 optional host permissions, Chrome's native 'Site Access' controls don't actually work: - On Click - On Specific Sites - On All Sites Even if a user tries to restrict the extension to a specific domain using Chrome's settings, the extension continues to run on every website visited. Some people might assume global permissions are required for a script blocker, but supporting optional host permissions gives users the best of both worlds without breaking functionality: • Users who want a global script shield can grant access 'On All Sites.' • Users who only want to block JavaScript on specific target domains can restrict it via 'On Specific Sites.' Updating the manifest to support optional host permissions would allow privacy-minded users to limit the extension strictly to chosen domains—blocking JavaScript where needed while keeping it completely inactive across the rest of the web. Adding this flexibility would make the tool far safer, lighter, and more modern.
