Play a video URL on your Roku player from this app. Any accessible URL to supported Roku video format should work.

NOTE: Since Google has dropped the ball on supporting Chrome Desktop application I've abandoned this project , I wont be supporting this anymore, you can continue to use it at its current state without any expectation of new features or bugs getting fixed. This app needs a absolute URL to a video [as shown in example],if you are planning to paste youtube.com / hulu in the box hoping it will show that webpage on Roku, that's not the case. Remote is straightforward but the URL player thing, Its not for everyone. In other words its not that user friendly yet. Troubleshooting : 1. Make sure your Roku and computer are on same network 2. VPN on computer may prevent chrome app to discover Roku. 3. For some reasons beyond my comprehension, despite of being on same network as that of Roku's chrome app may not be able to discover Roku, try giving it another shot after a reboot / wifi adapter reset. Chrome app remembers last found Roku so it will be less painful after the a successful discovery. I've added some basic URL play functionality. You will have to install the companion Roku app on your device. Please note this is a private Roku channel and you'll have to install it like any private Roku channel. You well get the installation link from this Chrome app. You can play video files from internet / local network to which you have a qualified URL and is of supported format [e.g. mp4]. Playback / error handling is extremely basic and just there to help you play some file directly on Roku. I want this to evolve to a lot more useful app, I'm trying my best to get there in my free time.
