ReadAI turns any confusing passage, diagram, or PDF excerpt into a clear, plain-English explanation — without leaving the page. Select any text on a webpage or PDF, or right-click an image, and ReadAI shows you a simple explanation in context, right where you're reading. Ask follow-up questions in the same popup to go deeper on anything you don't understand. How it works: Highlight a passage → get an explanation grounded in the surrounding paragraph, not just the words themselves Highlight a single word → get an instant dictionary definition (works offline, no AI call needed) Right-click an image, chart, or screenshot → get a description of what's shown Works inside PDFs too, including Chrome's and Firefox's built-in PDF viewers Ask follow-up questions right in the popup to keep exploring the same passage or image Your data: Selected text and images are sent to Groq's API to generate explanations. Single-word lookups use a public dictionary API and don't require an internet connection to your own account. Your Groq API key is stored locally and never leaves your browser except to authenticate your own requests. Requires a free Groq API key, which you can add from the extension icon.
