PikPak Browser Extension, used by 100,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. Its permissions mean it can read and change data on all websites, can inject scripts into pages and can observe network requests. It was last updated in October 2026.

Analyst notes

The extension's code matches its described purpose of detecting downloadable links and allowing one-click saving to PikPak cloud drive. All network requests go to the publisher's own domains ([domain withheld], etc.). The collected analytics (user interactions and user ID) are first-party and covered by the privacy policy; the missing CWS disclosure is a hygiene issue, not evidence of malice. The large bundle size, inline SVGs, and standard minification explain the high ML model counters (e.g., js_post_requests, js_innerhtml) without indicating obfuscation or suspicious behavior. The broad permissions are necessary for link detection across sites.
