Outer Space, used by 2,000 people, showed no malicious code in Extension Auditor's review. It comes from a trusted publisher and was last updated in December 2023.
Analyst notes
The extension code is consistent with its stated purpose: a new-tab space-wallpaper page with a Bing-monetised search box. The only outbound call is a single install-event POST to [domain withheld] (publisher's own declared domain, within host_permissions), carrying only the extension name. Search queries are routed through [domain withheld] — the CWS listing explicitly discloses the Bing search-provider change. The ML score of 0.23 is explained entirely by a standard Parcel-bundled React app: high js_exclamation (3091) from minification, js_fromcharcode from React keyboard event internals, and from React DOM. The only contra-signal is the publisher (tiki-media) having other extensions flagged malicious, which prevents a full false_positive clearance but the code itself contains no exfiltration, obfuscation, or injection.
