OptionRamp is a simple tool to help you write covered call options.

Writing covered calls is a popular way to generate income. But selecting the options is a challenge. Strike prices that are too low will result in shares being called away more frequently... not a good thing if you are a long-term investor! Strike prices that are too high will result in less income. OptionRamp helps you manage this risk-reward tradeoff with a visual option selection tool. For each stock, you can see the historical price volatility, presented as a price-change distribution chart. You can scroll through available options and quickly see where strike prices lie on the curve. The OptionRamp Chrome browser extension lets you access this information with a mouse click. From any website, such as your broker’s trading screen, you just right-click on a stock symbol and a separate window opens with statistics and options information for that stock. You continue to use your broker for trading. But with the OptionRamp Chrome extension, you quickly access the data you need for a more informed decision. Tips: • The first time you use this extension, the pop-up window will be OptionRamp’s login/registration page. Follow the instructions to set up an OptionRamp account. • Once you are logged in, you can use the extension to quickly pop up information on stocks by mousing over a stock symbol, e.g. GOOGL, on any website, right-clicking, and selecting the menu item that says “View GOOGL on OptionRamp.” • Go to the “Learn” section in the pop-up window for more tips and features.
