I can start a party but no one can join. The generated link just tells everyone to install the add-on but we all already have it.

Literally doesn't work. Potential data harvesting.

I've been using Netflix party for a few months now and absolutely love it! It's so easy to set up and use, and it makes watching movies with friends so much more fun. I love that I can chat with my friends while we watch, and the picture and sound quality is great. Highly recommend!
