Analyst notes
The bundle is exactly what the listing describes: (lines 24-81) injects one <style> element whose only payload is a `cursor: url(...)` rule built from data: URLs produced locally by canvas.toDataURL() in, and the 310KB popup bundle is a Create-React-App build with no fetch, XMLHttpRequest, eval, WebSocket, cookie or webRequest use at all — its only outbound navigation is window.chrome.tabs.create at:8117 opening three publisher-owned [domain withheld] help pages. Our ML score, the Critical risk-engine rating and the chrome-stats impact score are all driven by the `scripting` + `*://*/*` combination, which a global cursor-restyler genuinely needs, and the publisher is malicious leave-one-out. The one contradicting signal is the Unit42 2025-08-19 'Chrome extensions leading to adware or PUP' IOC list, which names this ID; the bundled code does not corroborate it — the only adware-adjacent behaviour is marketing funnel (install tab, setUninstallURL, and reloading open [domain withheld] tabs in:53-108) pointing at the publisher's own domain — but since any PUP behaviour would live server-side on those landing pages I cannot fully clear it, hence likely_benign rather than false_positive.
