Analyst notes
The extension is a well-established new-tab design inspiration aggregator. All network requests go to first-party domains (muz.li, api.muz.li, etc.) coincident with the publisher’s website and privacy policy. The disclosed collection of ‘Personally identifiable information’ aligns with user login and standard Google Analytics (anonymous client ID) functionality. No data is exfiltrated to unrelated third parties; ads and sponsored content are served via the extension’s own ad servers. The broad `web_accessible_resources` entry (‘*/*’) is a hygiene issue but not a malicious indicator in this context. The ML model’s signals (regex counts for XMLHttpRequest, innerHTML, base64, etc.) are fully explained by normal UI rendering, dynamic content loading, and inline data-URI images.
