Meeting Guard — Never Accidentally Unmute or Expose Your Camera Again Have you ever joined a meeting, thought your mic was off, and realized too late that everyone heard you? Or turned your camera on by mistake during a private moment? Meeting Guard is a lightweight browser extension that protects you from those embarrassing, privacy-breaking moments on video calls. Why install Meeting Guard? Accidental microphone and camera activations are one of the most common — and most embarrassing — mishaps in remote work. Meeting Guard automatically manages your audio and video so you stay private by default, every single meeting. What it does: • Auto-Mute on Join — Your microphone is muted automatically the moment you enter a meeting, so you never broadcast before you're ready. • Auto-Camera Off — Your camera stays off by default when you join, protecting your privacy from the first second. • Confirm Before Unmute — A quick confirmation prompt appears before your mic turns on, preventing accidental unmutes during a call. • Confirm Before Camera — Get a safety check before your camera activates, so you're never caught off guard. • Always Force Mute / Camera Off — Optional always-on protection that keeps your mic and camera locked off, even if a platform tries to re-enable them. • Warn Before Close — A reminder prompt if you try to close or leave a meeting tab, so you never accidentally drop out of an important call. Currently supported: Google Meet (fully supported). Microsoft Teams and Zoom Web support is coming soon. Privacy-first: Meeting Guard runs entirely on your device. It does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data, audio, or video. Your meetings stay yours. Install Meeting Guard today and join every meeting with confidence — muted, camera-safe, and in control.
