Input method based on the vocabulary list of the Indigenous Languages Development Foundation

Please note: This is a system input method for Chrome OS. Please use it on a Chromebook or a PC with Chrome OS Flex installed. It will not work in the Chrome browser on a regular PC. McFoxIM is a convenient input method designed for typing Formosan Austronesian languages spoken in Taiwan. Developed using the language learning vocabulary lists provided by the Indigenous Languages Research and Development Foundation (ILRDF), it allows you to easily input Indigenous languages when working or teaching on Chrome OS. The input method offers the following features: - 42 languages from the ILRDF learning vocabulary list are supported and can be switched in the input menu. - Allows for mixed typing with regular English or other languages using the Roman alphabet. 0 When a prediction is available, you can use Tab or Enter to complete the word. - Chinese explanations are provided alongside the vocabulary. How to Use - -After installing this extension package, please first open the Chrome OS system settings. - In the language settings, add the McFoxIM input method. - Then, you can directly input text on any webpage opened in the browser. Other Notes - The name of this input method is McFoxIM. The "fox" in the name does not refer to the animal; rather, in the ISO 639 language codes, "fox" is the code for Formosan Austronesian languages. It signifies that this is an input method for Taiwan's Austronesian languages. - The ILRDF also provides an official Indigenous language input method, which supports platforms such as Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. This input method, however, was developed by the OpenVanilla community to support platforms not covered by the ILRDF's official version. - This input method is released under the MIT License. The input tables are released under the Creative Commons license of ILRDF's "Indigenous Language E-Learning Paradise" (族語E樂園). Change Log: - 0.4.0 (Nov 2025): Updated the input tables, also optimized the loading speed.
