The unsubscribe button most extensions show you is a lie. What they do is build a Gmail filter that hides future emails. The sender keeps emailing you. Your address keeps getting sold. You just stop seeing the mail in your inbox. Mailbreak reads the List-Unsubscribe header — every commercial mailing list is required to include one — and fires the unsubscribe via RFC 8058 POST, mailto, or HTTPS link, whichever the sender exposes. The sender stops sending.
