Previewer.app Tooltip is a lightweight, privacy-respecting browser extension that helps you explore the web more safely and efficiently. When you hover over a link that points outside the current website, the extension shows you a quick preview of the destination - so you can decide whether it’s worth clicking. Perfect for everyday browsing or simply avoiding sketchy or misleading links. How It Works When you hover over an external link, the extension sends a request to our secure proxy server. That server fetches the destination page, follows redirects, extracts key metadata (like title, description, thumbnail, and social media preview tags), and returns a compact preview back to your browser - all within a styled tooltip. Under the Hood Redirects followed: You’ll see the final destination, not just the raw href. Global caching: URLs are hashed and previews are cached for 7 days. If someone has recently previewed the same link, you’ll get the result instantly from cache. Sanitized previews: We clean and normalize all returned data. No background crawling: We only fetch a page when you hover over a real link.
