This extension was made in response to the change YouTube made: Removing the public dislike count.

YouTube announced they were gonna remove the public dislike count. The change is slowly rolling out to all YouTube users. This extensions tries to get the dislike count back on YouTube. How does it work? This extension will add a like count to the YouTube watch page. It pulls it's data from this repository: https://github.com/LetMeDislike/PublicData. When the YouTube API no longer shows dislike data, creators can opt-in and share their dislike analytics data with everyone. This way, the dislikes will be shown all across YouTube. We are also working on a voting system that will let you dislike videos, and make your opinion count publicly. This project is open source!
