With a parent PIN, you choose what is allowed: * Redirect YouTube Home to Subscriptions. * Optionally redirect YouTube Search results to Subscriptions. * Block Shorts pages and Shorts surfaces. * Hide watch-page recommendations, autoplay prompts, and end-screen suggestions. * Allow videos from approved YouTube channels. * Optionally scan visible YouTube page text locally for learning-focused videos. Basic mode is strict: only approved channels are allowed when the approved-channel guard is enabled. Advanced mode gives more flexibility for classrooms and homeschool use. You can set trusted education channels, learning terms, block terms, and a score threshold so clearly educational videos can stay visible even when the channel is not yet on your approved list. LearnSafe is intentionally local-first. It does not send browsing activity, YouTube page content, approved channels, settings, or PIN data to remote servers. The parent PIN is stored only as a salted local hash through Chrome storage. LearnSafe is not a full-device parental control suite.
